Sagar Doshi: Consultant Cardiologist in Birmingham
Professor Sagar N. Doshi is a nationally and internationally recognised specialist in Interventional Cardiology practising at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. He is an Honorary Professor at the Department of Health, University College Birmingham and an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Birmingham School of Medicine. He is an Interventional Consultant Cardiologist and Director of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Intervention (TAVI) programme, which he has led since its inception in 2008. Fellowship-trained, his expertise includes the management of ischaemic heart disease and all aspects of general cardiology. He has performed over 2200 angioplasties and coronary stents and has performed over 2000 TAVI procedures for severe aortic stenosis. He also specialises in Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (TEER), a minimally invasive treatment for mitral and tricuspid regurgitation and has recently been involved in the implantation of the Evoque valve, the first percutaneous transcatheter heart valve licensed for tricuspid valve regurgitation. Professor Doshi plays an active role in research and has published widely in leading cardiology journals. He lectures regularly on structural valve interventions, both nationally and internationally, and serves as a proctor for several biomedical companies.
