Nawar Abdulsattar: Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Bristol
Mr Nawar Abdulsattar is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 20 years of expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty and sports-related lower limb injuries. He obtained his MBChB from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad in 2003 before relocating to Sweden, where he successfully passed the medical examination at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. He then underwent extensive training, becoming a Swedish Board-certified specialist in trauma and orthopaedics.
During his training, Mr Abdulsattar conducted research on developmental hip dysplasia and pursued PhD studies at Gothenburg University, focusing on the epidemiology, treatment methods and outcomes of ankle fractures. He further refined his expertise through a hip and knee arthroplasty fellowship at Stockholm Orthopaedic Center before taking up a Consultant Surgeon role at Aleris Hospitals in Stockholm.
In 2020, Mr Abdulsattar moved to the UK and joined Practice Plus Group, where he currently practises at Emersons Green in Bristol and Barlborough in Chesterfield. He continues to serve as a visiting surgeon in Sweden and is a member of the Swedish Orthopaedic Association.
As a high-volume specialist, Mr Abdulsattar has performed over 1,500 joint replacements and specialises in hip and knee replacement surgeries, knee arthroscopy, and ankle arthroscopy.
