Tom Routledge: Consultant Thoracic Surgeon in London
Mr Tom Routledge attended medical schools at Cambridge and then Oxford Universities, where he won scholarships in medical science. He undertook his surgical training in Cambridge, London and New York. He was appointed as a Consultant in Thoracic Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in 2007, where he is Chief of Thoracic Surgery. He is currently the senior thoracic surgeon at London Bridge Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, and helps lead their lung cancer multidisciplinary team. Mr Routledge has been at the forefront of developing robotic minimally invasive surgery and has developed techniques that allow the majority of his patients to benefit from this more precise and gentler way of doing surgery. His approach is to combine technical surgical excellence with personalised patient experience and support and he has built a team at London Bridge and across HCA London to achieve this.
