Following training as a podiatrist and an MSc in the Theory of Podiatric Surgery with the University of Huddersfield, Mr Chan undertook surgical training at Department of Podiatric Surgery at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As part of his training he visited centres in Europe and Asia, gaining extensive experience and developing a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and high-risk limb salvage surgery. On completion of his training, he was awarded Fellowship with was Royal College of Podiatry, Faculty of Podiatric Surgery, UK and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant in 2021. He is Regional Chair of the Northern Deanery with the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery, a visiting lecturer to the University of Huddersfield and a registered surgical tutor and national examiner with the Royal College of Podiatry, Faculty of Podiatric Surgery.
