Mark Price: Consultant Podiatric Surgeon in Birmingham
Mark has over 30 years' experience as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon, having performed more than 10,000 foot operations and 60,000 injections across both NHS and private hospitals in Stafford. He has also provided advanced surgical practice within Diabetes and Rheumatology departments. He holds a Professional Doctorate from Staffordshire University for his research into quantifying the mechanical response of the plantar fascia to changes in rearfoot position, leading to the development of a unique protocol for weight-bearing assessment of the plantar fascia. In addition, he has a Master’s Degree from the University of Huddersfield.
Mark possesses a broad range of clinical skills in musculoskeletal conditions, sports medicine, biomechanics, and orthotics. He is also trained in Stecco myofascial manipulation (Level 1 & 2), foot mobilisation, acupuncture and hypnosis. His expertise has led him to treat numerous national, Olympic and international athletes, as well as professional sportspeople.
Widely published, Mark regularly lectures both nationally and internationally. He delivers talks to General Practitioners, Registrars and Consultants on lower limb pathology and has previously lectured in Sports Biomechanics for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM). He has served as a surgical and clinical tutor at the University of Malta for over 15 years and has also lectured at the Birmingham School of Podiatry and Staffordshire University. Additionally, he is a surgical tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Podiatry (Surgical Faculty).
Mark is the inventor of the Dynastat, a patented device (UK, USA, and Europe) designed to measure the complex angles of the joints in the foot in a weight-bearing position while recording the peak pressure across the foot. This technology enables precise scanning and the creation of bespoke 3D-printed orthoses.
